Every year, the Chisholm Trail Chapter responds to over 550 disasters in our 23 counties. The first Red Crossers on the scene are members of the Disaster Action Team. This volunteer group operates on a 24/7 basis and typically responds to residential and apartment fires; however, the team also responds to severe weather events, hazardous materials spills and other natural and man-made disasters.

Once on the scene, the Disaster Action Team ensures that the residents have their emergency needs met, and provides them, and emergency personnel, with water, coffee and snacks.
